MegaMind -Movie Review

Megamind is a movie that came out in 2010, directed by Thomas McGrath, or much more commonly known as Tom McGrath, who is an American voice actor, animator, screenwriter, and film director. He is best known for co-directing the Dreamworks animated film Madagascar with Eric Darnell, as well as other animated films such as Baby Boss. Will Ferrel plays the protagonist character Megamind, David Cross plays the supporting character Minion, Tina Fey plays the character conflict, Roxanne, and Jonah Hill plays the antagonist character, Hal Stewart, in this film. Megamind is a genre of action, comedy, science fiction, superhero, animation, and children's films.

The plot of the film revolves around a villain who transforms into a superhero. The protaganist Megamind is an alien from another planet and was forced to runaway from it at a young age by his parents in order to save him, just like his counterpart Metro Man. When he and Minion arrived on Earth, fate decided that he would end up in a prison, as opposed to Metro Man, who ends up in a wealthy family. He and Minion were nurtured by the prisoner and learned to do wrong from a young age. As he was growing up, he found that society didn't like him and decided he didn't want to be a superhero but a super villain. This stopped being his goal after he was able to kill Metro Man and found being a super villain boring. Without any purpose and feeling depressed, he went for a walk in disguise with the fake alias. He met a reporter named Roxanne at a statue and began conversing with her. He found that she had all the personalities that he liked and tried his best to make her happy and like him in disguise. While doing so, he also created a serum that can grant superpowers and inadvertently gave it to Hal, who eventually becomes a villain after Megamind reveals he was dating Roxanne. He saved the city. Now that the metropolis is in trouble and Roxanne has been kidnapped by Hal, it's up to him to save the city. He saved the city. He did.Megamind was able to beat Hal with the help of the minion and Roxanne, but ultimately he did it himself and saved the city. Everyone in the city praises him and calls him a hero. They even celebrate him.

The film reflects on a problem that exists in our society, which is mental health. It shows a lot of our protagonist being bullied by people around him in school and trying his best to fit in but not being able to. As a result, he ended up being a villain and committing violence. This is similar to how modern generations of male teenagers are in our society; they want to be treated with care, love, and attention and are treated equally as their female counterparts are not, and as a result, they result in harm or violence. This movie also teaches us to be confident in ourselves. This is clearly shown in the movie as Megamind slowly becomes who he is by time and his own determination. We should take him as an example to build our confidence and also be ourselves.

The film has interesting characters and good in-depth character building with a good storyline and an unexpected plot twist. Furthermore, with a message that is close to everyone's heart, which is to follow what we want to be and find our own destiny, or should I say, our own path,

10/10 recommendation to watch.
